2 Chainz Helped Michael Jordan Debunk a Hilarious Chamillionaire Rumor

2 Chainz had better luck than Chamillionaire in getting a picture with basketball's GOAT.

Saturday night, 2 Chainz likely earned himself hundreds of likes by posting a few pictures of himself with six-time champion and current Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan. For the most part, the pics would’ve been pretty uneventful if it weren’t for a few seemingly credible rumors about the man who may be the greatest living professional basketball player.

Back in 2009, Chamillionaire posted a Ustream video chronicling an alleged meeting with Jordan. According to Cham, MJ savagely curved him in a way that fits with Jordan’s well-documented pettiness.

“Nobody was talking, they were just chilling or whatever,” Chamillionaire recounted at the 1:23 mark on the original video, which you can see above. “I was just like, ‘Hey I don’t mean to be rude, but Mike I just wanted to know if I could get a picture?’ I kind of expected him to say no, so I wasn’t mad if he said no. But the way he said it? He said, ‘Oh hell nah, man! I ain’t taking no pictures with no niggas.’”

The story has since grown legs, to the point where even ESPN covered it and noted, “There’s also widespread support for the idea that Jordan is no saint. That’s not something I have seen before. I can’t help but wonder if the public perception of Jordan is shifting.”

Add in N.O.R.E.’s claim that Jordan isn’t exactly a fan of rap, and the legendary stories about Jordan giving Steve Kerr a two-piece and verbally thrashing Kwame Brown. There was also a growing suspicion that Jordan was a highly successful but foul dude who deserved to be memed

Saturday night’s pics may have helped Jordan more than 2 Chainz. The N.O.R.E. rumor got so bad that Jordan Brand had to issue a formal statement. Most people would agree that 2 Chainz isn't rocking double X chromosomes, so it appears Michael Jordan will at least take a picture with another man, and maybe he doesn’t really hate rap. Fabolous provided some proof of the latter, but a stronger case never hurts. After all, Chamillionaire’s story could still be true. And if it is, Jordan is providing some great spin control.
