It’s obviously not all that difficult to find brutal MMA knockout videos online. It seems like a new one is trending every other day. But despite the fact that there are hundreds and probably even thousands of amazing knockout clips on the internet at this point, there’s one going around right now that features a knockout unlike anything you have ever seen before.
The clip, which was captured at "Golden Ticket Fight Promotions: Fight Night 7" in England last week, shows an amateur fighter named Samuel Ilnicki squaring off against fellow amateur Solomon Rogers. Neither fighter was really on our radar or, frankly, anyone’s radar before this week. But that all changed in an instant when Ilnicki charged at Rogers with his right hand raised as if he was going to try and land a punch. Rogers went to try and block the punch but, at the last second, Ilnicki switched up his approach and led with his right foot instead. It hit Rogers squarely in the face—and down he went.
But Rogers didn’t actually go down right away. He got hit so hard in the face that he momentarily froze in mid-air and just kind of stood there for a second. He was clearly out of it and had been KO’d, but he didn’t fall immediately. One of his teeth also came shooting out of his mouth, just to add further injury to the devastating knockout blow.
Amazingly, it doesn’t sound like Rogers was injured too badly. But towards the end of the clip, you can see Ilnicki praying over his limp body as he lays motionless on the mat. We thought we had seen it all when it came to these MMA clips, but Ilnicki just added his name to the list of the all-time great knockouts in MMA history with this. Wow.
