LeBron James got the reaction you would expect when he called himself the King of New York on Instagram on Tuesday morning.

LeBron flexes.

LeBron James' most recent trip to New York City was memorable, to say the least. He took shots at Phil Jackson. He rode the subway. He beefed with Enes Kanter. He helped the Cavaliers knock off the Knicks in an improbable comeback win. And before bouncing from the Big Apple, he crowned himself the King of New York on Instagram. Not bad for one 24-hour stretch!

Just about everything that LeBron did in NYC pissed Knicks fans off. But the King of New York thing really put them over the edge. Knicks fans responded the way you would think they would after seeing LeBron’s KONY post go up on IG.

King of New York?!?! 😂 Millennials have no idea the performances we old guys watched take place in MSG

Kanter seconded what the guy above said by giving Kristaps Porzingis the crown.

But not everyone disagreed with LeBron. He has a history of coming to Madison Square Garden and crushing the Knicks' hopes and dreams. He's put up some of his best games at the Garden. So while Knicks fans didn’t agree with his KONY declaration, other NBA fans are just fine with the King taking the NY crown.

Someone needs to inform LeBron that Kendrick Lamar is the King of New York

LeBron calling himself the KONY does make things complicated, though. After all, isn’t Kendrick Lamar still holding the crown after dropping his "Control" verse in 2013? Hmmm…

And before that, didn't someone else hold the crown?

No matter where you stand on the LeBron/KONY discussion, we can all agree with one thing: Savage LeBron > Any other version of LeBron.

Oh, and speaking of Savage LeBron, he also retweeted this after putting his KONY post up, just in case Knicks fans needed yet another reason to hate him.

Fortunately for Knicks fans, LeBron won’t be back to play in NYC again until April. After this latest trip, they’re going to need five months to recover.
