There were many questions that people asked during O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing in Nevada on Thursday. Like, why is O.J. talking so much? And, did O.J. really just say he’s lived a "conflict-free" life? And, does O.J. want to spend more time in jail? Even though O.J. ended up being granted parole, he certainly didn’t do himself any favors with the way he spoke at times during the hearing.

But one of the questions that was asked the most on social media during the hearing didn’t actually have anything to do with O.J. at all. Rather, it had to do with the attire of one of the parole board members, and more specifically, his tie. For whatever reason, the man—later identified as Adam Endel—chose to wear a Kansas City Chiefs tie to the hearing, even though he was, in theory, supposed to be taking the legal proceedings very seriously. It caused lots of people to question him:

On Thursday night, Endel set out to shut his critics up by doing an interview with the Kansas City Star about his controversial neckwear. Endel said he lives in Nevada now, but he grew up just outside of Kansas City, and as his Twitter bio says, he said he's a big Chiefs and Royals fan. And while speaking with the KC Star, he revealed that he wore the Chiefs tie not to try and troll O.J. or anything, but to attract the attention of his friends and family back in Kansas City.

"It was one of those little things I figured someone might spot from Kansas City," he said, "but I didn’t realize it was going to blow up that much. It’s crazy now."

Endel, who has served on the parole board in Nevada since 2009, also went on to tell the KC Star that his office is "covered in Royals and Chiefs stuff."

And at the end of his interview with the KC Star, Endel downplayed the criticism he received from those watching the O.J. hearing at home. He said that he actually doesn’t remember the last time he wore the tie, but he revealed that, now that it’s become a thing, he’s definitely going to wear it again.

"I realize some people are going to be upset I wore a Chiefs tie," he said. "That’s OK. They can be upset."

Endel seems to be enjoying the 15 minutes of fame he’s receiving as a result of his role in O.J. hearing. On the day before the hearing was set to take place, he snapped this photo of Geraldo Rivera and posted it on Twitter:

He also snapped this selfie of him and his fellow parole board members on Thursday:

But it’s that damn Chiefs tie everyone is going to remember him for. Not that he seems to mind.
