Another year, another MLB All-Star Game controversy. Except this time, there truly isn't much to talk about.

At this point, you should already be well aware that last year’s All-Star festivities were tainted by an ‘All Lives Matter’ rendition of the Canadian anthem. That strange and disappointing bit came courtesy of rogue tenor and noted flat-earther, Remigio Pereira. There was justified uproar following Pereira’s questionable remix, and it quickly led to the singer’s removal from his popular group, the Canadian Tenors.

One year later and the annual baseball classic has kept their tradition of awkwardness alive thanks to Canadian singer, Jocelyn Alice. The Calgarian was in the building last night to sing the national anthem, and while it started out just fine, Alice quickly began to unravel and launched into a miniature giggle fit. The incident certainly pales in comparison to Pereira’s painfully misguided “O Canada”, but the weird moment has already caused some prominent backlash online. You can watch it play out below via Global News.

The criticism hasn’t stayed online either. During the live telecast, Blue Jays baseman Justin Smoak was caught on-camera looking rather displeased. Alice herself has come out and explained that the mental slip was born out of genuine excitement. Taking to Twitter, Alice states “A BIG thank you to the MLB for one of the best days of my life yesterday. I giggled because I saw some fellow Canadians on the big screen and was overcome with excitement in that moment. I love my country. I am so proud to be Canadian.”

For what it's worth, you can see the jumbotron angle for yourself. Either way, we think it's safe to file this one under nontroversy.

We live in a world that turns joy into drama... @iamjocelynalice slayed! And people cheered for her and our amazing country. @cbcradio pic.twitter.com/O50wC7VlA2
