Forget having a good year; Conor McGregor is in the midst of a great month.
Earlier in May, McGregor and his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin announced the birth of their son Conor Jack. A few weeks later, The Notorious inched a little closer to a bout with Floyd Mayweather after agreeing to his side of the fight.
On Friday, Conor posted a photo of himself on Instagram, and revealed that he's officially a Beats by Dre athlete. In addition to giving a shout-out to U2, Bono, and Beats by Dre co-founder Jimmy Iovine, McGregor also mentioned "my brother" Drake, who apparently played a role in securing this opportunity for the UFC lightweight champion.
In an interview with UFC's Megan Olivi, McGregor said he had a meeting with Iovine this past September. The Beats by Dre co-founder ended up inviting the self-proclaimed "big fan" of Drake to the rapper's show later that night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. At the time, Drizzy was on the road with Future for the Summer Sixteen Tour, which was presented by Apple Music.
The meeting, coupled with Drake's show, was the perfect string of events which led to McGregor signing this deal with Beats by Dre. And of course, the rapper isn't mad at Conor getting his money.
