It's never smart for a player to piss off an official during a game, especially if they intend to help get the W for their squad. And if a player loses their composure and lets their emotions fly by throwing something at a referee, that's just flat-out stupid.

Near the beginning of the fourth quarter in the Jaguars (2-6) versus Chiefs (6-2) game, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce was in the Chiefs' end zone on a 2nd and 4th on Jacksonville's 12-yard line with the score at 16-7 in the Chiefs' favor. Nick Foles threw a pass to Kelce, which he missed. Then he complained angrily to the official that he felt there should have been a pass interference or a facemask call on the play. But when he didn't get the call, he flipped out and flippantly threw his hands up in disgust.

As you can see in the clip above, the disagreement between Kelce and the official got pretty testy when Kelce was slapped with an unsportsmanlike conduct call that cost the Chiefs a 15-yard penalty. Then after the referee threw the flag for that call, Kelce became quite brazen and hurled his personal towel at the ref to spitefully imitate him.

The zebra then one-upped Kelce by tossing his own cap in the air to basically tell him to GTFOH when he handed Kelce a second unsportsmanlike conduct call, resulting in an automatic ejection, and an additional 15-yard penalty for Kansas City.

After Kelce was booted from the game, the Chiefs were forced back to the Jaguars' 34-yard line for a 3rd down, which they ultimately kicked a field goal to extend their lead by 3.

The final score 19-14 for a Chiefs victory. But if they lost to the horrible Jags, you can bet Kelce would be blaming himself for not keeping his cool and having one less option for Foles to pass to.
