Tom Brady Refuses to Reveal Who He Voted For: 'I'm Not Talking Politics Anymore'

Tom Brady said he would reveal who he voted for during a radio appearance on Monday and then refused to talk about anything related to politics.

Early last week, Donald Trump suggested that Tom Brady had voted for him in the 2016 presidential election during a rally in New Hampshire. "Tom Brady, great guy, great friend of mine, great, great champion, unbelieveable winner," Trump said. "He called me today and he said, 'Donald, I support you, you're my friend, and I voted for you.'" Trump also read a letter that Brady's head coach Bill Belichick had written to him.

Brady made his weekly appearance on the Kirk & Callahan radio show a short time after the rally, and while he didn't necessarily deny what Trump had said, he declined to comment on whether or not he had voted for him. He went as far to say that he hadn't voted yet, and he let the show's hosts know that he would have more to say about his political preferences during his next appearance.

Hours after that radio appearance, Brady's wife Gisele also chimed in on the subject of Trump and told a random person "NO!" on Instagram when she was asked if it was true that Brady was backing the GOP candidate:

On Monday, Brady returned to the Kirk and Callahan show, and the show's hosts obviously expected him to stay true to his word and reveal who he cast his ballot for. But the future Hall of Famer pulled an audible on them and refused to reveal his presidential pick. Furthermore, he refused to discuss politics at all and said that he's realized it's a "bad idea" for him to talk Trump or anything else related to the political arena. "I'm not talking politics anymore, guys," he said. "I’m just not. I got other things to worry about. Just speaking with my family, it’s just a bad idea. I know, you guys, I told you I would, then after I told you I would, I changed my mind."

Not satisfied with that answer, the hosts continued to push Brady to talk politics with them, but he wouldn't break. "I just don’t want to get into it, guys," he said. "I really don’t. There’s nothing positive that comes of it. And there’s just been so much negativity over the last week. I’m a positive person. I just want to keep things positive."

The hosts took one last shot at trying to squeeze an answer out of Brady by asking if he was happy that his "friend" would be taking over the White House. But Brady stuck to his guns and stayed quiet. "Like I said, yeah, I don’t want to express any emotions or feelings of how I feel," he said. "You know what I am? I’m hopeful and optimistic that our country can, you know, move forward. I’m happy the election’s over. I’m sure a lot of other people are. And I’m going to focus on football."

Brady has been repeatedly asked about Trump since a "Make America Great Hat" was spotted in his locker during an interview last year. He's also previously referred to the President-elect as a "good friend" and said the two have been friendly for the past 15 years, ever since Brady was a judge for one of Trump's beauty contests following his first Super Bowl victory.

It doesn't sound like Brady has any interest in talking about Trump moving forward, but you better believe the Boston media is going to continue to hound him about his "friend."
