By now, you’ve surely heard about Kate Upton’s tweet from Wednesday, right? The one in which she called out Cy Young voters for snubbing her fiancé, Justin Verlander?

Yeah, this one:

Hey @MLB I thought I was the only person allowed to fuck @JustinVerlander ?! What 2 writers didn't have him on their ballot?

Upton was frustrated that Rick Porcello edged out Verlander for the Cy Young. Verlander did receive the most first-place votes, but he finished second in overall voting. Upton even said the MLB should fire the writers who left Verlander off their ballots—because Major League Baseball has the authority to fire journalists?

He had the majority of 1st place votes and 2 writers didn't have him on their ballots?!! can you pick more out of touch people to vote?@MLB
Sorry Rick but you didn't get any 1st place votes? you didn't win. #ByeFelicia @MLB keep up with the times and fire those writers

Naturally, at least one journalist, seeing the opportunity for a Hot Take, took exception to Upton’s rant. In a column, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News told the model and actress to “pipe down.”

Verlander had his bae’s back, though, and engaged in a Twitter exchange with Feinsand.

.@FeinsandNYDN She wasn't upset about me losing. That's fine. But turning in a ballot a week b4 the season ends?! https://t.co/J59frfX79M
@JustinVerlander I don't disagree with you. I turned my MVP ballot in the day after the season. But she didn't know that when she tweeted!
Her point was they were uninformed. That they turned in their ballot a week early only validated her point. https://t.co/X2ScjTRbqP
Also if you "don't disagree" where do you get off telling anyone to "pipe down"?!? https://t.co/X2ScjTRbqP
@JustinVerlander I thought the rage - not just from her - got out of hand. Forget the headline; in the column, I told everyone to pipe down.

The lesson: Kate Upton and Justin Verlander have each other’s backs, and they won’t hesitate to publicly call you out if you don’t support their significant other.
