Remember in July when the NBA revealed they had a really stupid high salary cap room for players at $94 million for this season? Well, if you were shocked by how much players got then, you'll grit your teeth as you read how the cap has spiked to $103 million forthe 2017-2018 season.

According toESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst, the new deal is a Collective Bargaining Agreement reached in a 50-50 split of all Basketball Related Income between the NBA Player's Association and the owners. Back in July, there was a reported projection by the league for a $102 million salary cap for playing for the 2017-2018 season.

Another one million was added to the cap for a shortfall adjustment that increases the cap space when teams don't burn through enough cash from the previous season. This is currently being revised by the CBA. More revenue is anticipated to come into the league, so adding another measly million dollars isn't that much, right?

This is worthy redefinition of the phrase "ball is life." So, if you have an NBA player in your family, learn the game of basketball well because the capability of draining 3s with a 40-plus field-goal percentage from beyond the arc, breaking ankles with sick crossovers, and dunking on 7-foot guys will be excellent specialized skills to have on your resume in this job market for years to come.
