There is certainly no shortage of excellent Marshawn Lynch stories out there in the world. There’s this one about him driving a 1986 Honda Civic. This one about him being extremely cheap (ah, that explains the Civic). And this one about him giving a guy $500 at McDonald’s to buy a pair of sneakers (wait, so maybe he’s not so cheap after all! Then what's with the Civic?!).

But if you’ve already read all of those and still want more, the Seattle Timesjust published a piece that features a bunch of Beast Mode’s former Seahawks teammates telling great stories about him. Defensive end Cliff Avril, center Justin Britt, and punter Jon Ryan all shared their fondest memories of Lynch. This one from wide receiver Doug Baldwin about his introduction to Lynch is laugh out loud funny, and we have no doubt that it played out exactly how Baldwin described it:

"My first week here, we were outside on the field, and I was talking to [running back] Justin Forsett. I kind of knew Justin a little bit, so we were talking about Stanford. He brings Marshawn over and goes, 'He’s a Stanford kid.' And Marshawn goes, 'Maaaaan, (expletive) Stanford.' And that was my introduction to Marshawn."

The best story of the bunch comes all the way at the end, though, courtesy of former Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette’s dad Earl Lockette Sr. Last November, Lockette was hospitalized following a Seahawks game against the Cowboys after he suffered what he later described as a near-fatal injury on the football field. As we told you back in July, Lynch stayed in Lockette’s hospital room the first night he was there so that he wouldn’t have to be by himself. At the time, Lockette mentioned that Lynch had him "laughing so hard that he was putting my damn life in danger." And while speaking with the Seattle Times, Lockette’s dad revealed one of the things Lynch did to keep the mood light:

"There was a male nurse," Earl Lockette Sr. said. "You remember the movie with the Fockers? Marshawn would call the male nurse that. I think it was Gaylord, right? He’d say, 'Hey, Gaylord!' He kept calling him that, and we didn’t know what he was talking about. He was like, 'You know, Gaylord Focker!' The male nurse was even laughing. He lifted everybody’s spirits. He made us forget the situation we were in. He would not leave until after Ricardo’s surgery, and we just thought it was beautiful for him to do that."

Classic Marshawn. You can check out the rest of the stories Seahawks players told to the Seattle Timeshere. It’s clear that they really miss their former teammate.
