A fan died on Tuesday morning hours after falling approximately 60 feet over a stairwell railing at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver following the Broncos’ win against the Texans. According to ABC 7 in Denver, the Denver Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death of a male fan, who has not been identified yet, and announced that it will release additional details about the fan's death sometime this afternoon.

ABC 7 is reporting that the fan fell over a stairwell railing near the escalators inside of the stadium, but at this time, it is unclear what caused the fall to take place. Denver Police are currently investigating the fall:

Stadium Management Company—the company that operates Mile High Stadium—released a brief statement on Tuesday morning. "A fan was taken to the hospital after falling over a stairwell railing at Sports Authority Field at Mile High shortly after Monday night’s game," the statement said. "Our thoughts are with the injured fan, and we are in the process of learning more about this incident from the Denver Police Department’s investigation."

ABC 7 pointed out that this is not the first time a fan has fallen over a stairwell inside Mile High Stadium. Similar falls took place in August 2013 and September 2015.
