Earlier this year, Kevin Durant was in search of a new tattoo artist. Following a suggestion from one of his friends, Durant found the right person for the job in Steve Wiebe after being "blown away" by the work on his Instagram account, according to The Undefeated. The two met for a consultation in July, and later that month, KD was spotted with a massive portrait of Tupac on his leg at Team USA training camp. After snagging a gold medal at the Olympics in Rio, Durant returned to Wiebe for some additional ink. This time, he got a Rick James tat on his thigh.

Since giving up on his career as a kitchen cabinet-maker in 2008, Wiebe has become the person that NBA stars like Durant, Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, and DeAndre Jordan get in touch with whenever they want to get some new ink. In 2014, Los Angeles Clippers forward Dorell Wright noticed Wiebe's work on the artist's Instagram account, and reached out to him. By the end of the 2014-15 season, Wright received his first tattoo from the Canada-based artist. As of right now, Wright's tattoo remains unfinished because Wiebe was "kidnapped" this summer by KD, and DeAndre.

“I got a rose on my chest and a King Tut on my thigh that I still need to finish,” Wright told The Undefeated. “He got kidnapped by K.D. and DeAndre this past summer, so I wasn’t able to finish. He just has to finish one more half of the King Tut. I couldn’t take the pain no more the first time. I had to tap out. He is one of those dudes I can wait for. I’m in no rush. You can’t really see it either."

Judging from Wiebe's Instagram account, it looks like he's in good hands.
