Aren't wide receiver-cornerback beefs on and off the field the best to sit back and watch? The newest one is between legendary Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith, Sr. who is having it out with Jaguars rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the press.

After the Ravens beat the Jags 19-17 Sunday, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft felt compelled to talk some shit about his matchup covering the 37-year-old Smith, Sr. After the game, Ramsey stated in the clip above about the verbal exchange that he and Smith had after the game.

"Y'all tell me who got in whose head," Ramsey stated to reporters. "He came up to me after the game, you feel me? Y'all tell me who got in whose head. He's an old man acting like that."

Ramsey didn't let up in his explanation about how he thinks Smith, Sr. is all but washed up still playing.

"Ain't nobody worried about him. He came up to me, you know what I'm saying, on some disrespectful stuff. The game's over with. You still mad 'cause I was locking you up? All right, go sleep on that. I ain't trying to hear that after the game."

This beef originated during the game with just over three minutes left to play when both Smith and Ramsey were both given penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct, following Paul Posluszny's interception from a pass by Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

Ramsey ended his barbs aimed at Smith when he added, "It is what it is. As a player, he's still a good player. I'll say that about him. But I don't respect him as a man."

Smith, who caught eight passes for 87 yards, saw the clip after the game and clapped back on Twitter immediately and sonned the rookie cornerback as he replied in two tweets. The first being this:

In the second tweet, Smith went deeper by predicting Ramsey's future in the league. "In 5 to 10, u will be retiring and they will be taking my measurement for something you will never be." And added the hashtag #HOFer meaning "Hall of Famer." He ended his tweet with this: "I've got cleats with stronger thread than you!!!"

All righty then. I guess that what happens when you don't respect your elders.
