John Elway was known as "Captain Comeback" during his legendary NFL career. Here's why this nickname aptly fits him in the digital age.

On May 2, 2015, Elway, who is a former Denver Broncos quarterback and now the EVP of Football Operations for the team, tweeted his praise for Trevor Siemian after they selected him during the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Elway stated in the since deleted tweet, "7th rd pick Trevor Siemian out of Northwestern had a productive year as a quarterback at Northwestern. He has raw talent and he think he will nicely develop."

In response to that tweet, Elway was trolled immediately after with some flak from random Twitter user @nfkrauss, questioning Elway's draft choice in an unfavorable manner. "So many other needs, in John we trust @Broncos but this seems like a huge reach," tweeted the trolling Broncos fan.

Elway, who is not an avid Twitter user, didn't respond to him right away. Instead, he waited over a year to respond to @nfkrauss— 511 days to be exact— after Siemian was given the starting QB job for this season and the Broncos are riding high with a 3-0 record to start the season, defending their Super Bowl 50 title. The response was simple and didn't require much when Elway responded to the troll with the Broncos Twitter handle.

This is a prime example that just because you tweeted something in jest or spoke out to a public figure, legendary athlete, or celebrity, it doesn't necessarily mean they won't ever respond to you.
