When the Houston Texans drafted J.J. Watt in 2011, the first-round pick (sandwiched between Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder, Watt went No. 11 overall) bought a home for $400,000. The former Wisconsin defensive end lived in that home until recently, when he decided to sell it.

Watt is under a 6-year contract worth more than $100 million that runs through 2022. With tens of millions already in the bank and, barring a highly unlikely trade, with his hometown nailed down for the foreseeable future, it makes sense that the humble superstar has finally decided to upgrade.

Watt’s four-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Pearland, Texas (34 minutes from Houston), is listed at $465,000. You can check out photos below.

While this is an absolutely beautiful home, there’s no question it’s an unusual living situation for an NFL superstar. That’s true to Watt’s roots, though. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year walked on at Wisconsin, and in college he delivered pizzas for Pizza Hut.

On the sales page for the 4,169 square foot home, Watt’s realtor writes that the house is “stunning!” Amenities include a saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen, and the ability to tell everyone you know that you bought J.J. Watt’s house.
