Gilbert Arenas filed a libel lawsuit against his ex-fiancée Laura Govan in 2015 and claimed she leaked an email to multiple media outlets that featured her writing, "When I left you, it was because I couldn't take the STDs," to him. Arenas reportedly asked a judge to award him with more than $1 million at the start of the suit.

The former NBA player—who is most definitely not hard up for cash—didn't get the million bucks he was looking for at the conclusion of the lawsuit, but according to TMZ Sports, a judge did order Govan to pay Arenas $110,100. The judge's decision was a default judgment and the payment was ordered for Arenas' "emotional distress." He claimed Govan's statement embarrassed him and prevented him from working on an app that he was developing at the time.

The judgment is the latest insane wrinkle in Arenas and Govan's fractured relationship. Since breaking up a few years ago, they have had a contentious and dragged-out separation that has included Arenas selling off Govan's $1 million engagement ring (which he claimed was fake), Arenas accusing Govan of spending $20,000 grand per month on clothes for Instagram, and Govan attempting to sue Arenas.

It all sounds very unhealthy for the couple's four children, and unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it's going to end anytime soon. But at least for now, they've got one more legal battle out of the way, so they might be able to keep their personal business out of the news for a week or two.
