Two team U.S.A. swimmers, Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz, have been reportedly detained at the Rio de Janeiro International Airport as they were trying to leave Brazil on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, the USOC has confirmed the Olympic athletes were pulled off their flight, only hours after a Brazilian judge ordered the team members to stay in the country for questioning.

"We can confirm that Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz were removed from their flight to the United States by Brazilian authorities," USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky said in a statement. "We are gathering further information."

On Sunday, Conger, Bentz, and their teammates Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen filed a police report in which they claimed to have been robbed at gunpoint near the Olympic village. A couple days later, Brazilian officers expressed their suspicion about the swimmers’ claims after surveillance video showed the men smiling and laughing around the time the incident was said to have taken place. Police also said Lochte and Feigen gave contradictory accounts.

On Wednesday, a judge requested that the swimmers’ passports be seized so officers could investigate whether or not the men had made a false report.

Lochte, however, returned to the states before he could be questioned. Feigens' whereabouts are unknown.
