It looks like Nick Young and D'Angelo Russell's relationship is on the mend following an incredibly rough patch earlier this year stemming from a video filmed by Russell where Young admitted to cheating on then-fiancéeIggy Azalea.
The leaked clip led to Swaggy P's life, on and off the court, spiraling out of control. Former Lakers head coach Byron Scott sat him for 16 games after the incident because "he's not here with us, mentally." Meanwhile, his engagement with Iggy was falling apart and eventually led to their split in June after he got his ex-girlfriend pregnant. Following a rocky end to the Lakers' 2015-16 campaign, reports surfaced that the team was trying to deal Young. As of right now, he's still on the roster and looking to coexist with Russell.
"We’re teammates," Young said, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. "It’s been so long, so it’s kind of old. We’ll be able to work it out. We’ve already been working it out. It is what it is. I can’t be mad forever."
After seeing the Foot Locker commercial in which D'Angelo pokes fun at his cell phone debacle, Swaggy P not only responded on Twitter, saying the clip was "real funny," but he also wants to make his own version. "I need my commercial now," he said, laughing. "I’ll explain what happened to my life."
For all parties involved, it's important that they turn the page and focus on getting better next season.
