The Boomers rolled through yet another Olympic victory on Day 9 of Olympic action, taking down Venezuela with a resounding 25-point victory.

The 81-56 victory equalled the Boomers’ biggest winning margin of the Olympic tournament, matching their 93-68 win over China only two days ago.

Patty Mills was suited up in street clothes for a scheduled rest, while Delly & Andrew Bogut played limited minutes in the match. With the big names resting, the limelight was seized by Melbourne United player Chris Goulding who lit up the Venezuelans for 22 points.

Joe Ingles contributed 11 points and Bogut added 10, but it was the second-tier players who did the damage for the Boomers in this one.

Finishing the group stage of the competition with a 4-1 record, the Aussies earned second spot in Group A, and will now move on to the quarter finals. With the USA struggling to edge France by only 3 points on Day 9, it seems any team in the quarters could make a claim for the gold.
