Since Kevin Durant announced his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors, much has been made about the current state of his relationship with Russell Westbrook.

With Westbrook remaining silent on the matter, Durant has done all the talking, admitting that what they had "probably won’t ever be the same again." Of course, rumors have surfaced indicating that Russell is "ticked off" about KD's decision to leave. However, a new piece from ESPN's Royce Young is reporting that Westbrook and Durant's relationship is more fractured than you know.

Per ESPN:

The two have not spoken since Durant's decision. Those close to Westbrook say he's both angry and hurt not only by Durant's decision to leave but also because Durant didn't even call to tell him personally. Westbrook wasn't prepared to be in this position -- three weeks ago, like everyone else, he thought Durant was coming back. And he had to learn the hard way he wasn't.

Young's report opposes what Durant told reporters when he said that he and Westbrook have spoken to one another since announcing his decision. "I'm sure he wasn't happy about the decision, but he respected it as a friend," he said. "The relationship was great... but like I said, I wanted a new chapter in my life."

As for Westbrook's future with OKC, Young reports that he's "taking time not just to figure out his next steps, but also to lick his own wounds." After all, Russell thought KD was coming back as recent as "three weeks ago."
