Dwyane Wade will no longer play for the Heat. It still feels weird to type that. The Heat are the only team Wade has ever known, and for 13 years, Wade has called Miami home.

Even when there was a fear that the 34-year-old could sign with another organization in 2010, he ended up convincing LeBron James and Chris Bosh to take their talents down to South Beach, instead of joining forces elsewhere. So when Dan Le Batard contacted Heat team president Pat Riley late Wednesday and asked for his reaction to Wade leaving, he was understandably emotional.

Per the Miami Herald:

Riley was too raw to talk about it Wednesday night, but I asked him if he wanted to say anything about how he was feeling, and this is what he wrote by text:

This is definitely the end of an era for Miami-Wade County.
