In the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 23, Khalil Rountree had to deal with two difficult obstacles: a tough opponent in Andrew Sanchez in the Octagon and the incessant screaming from his mother in the crowd. As the second round was coming to an end and Sanchez continued to pummel away at him as he was pressed against the cage, Rountree found a way to tell his mom to shut up not once but twice.

As it turns out, the match was a lopsided one with Sanchez winning by unanimous decision, 30-25, 30-25 and 30-26. So, maybe, Khalil's mom was justified in continuously shouting directions at her son. Maybe, instead of telling her to shut up, listen to what she's got to say! It could've helped you out.

We're not going to speculate what was said, or what look was given, when Rountree saw his mother after his fight, but we're sure that hurt more than hearing the announcer declare Sanchez as the winner. After all, all moms got the ultimate submission move where they hit you with "the eyes." That may have been what Khalil got after his fight because he made sure to hop on Twitter and issue a public apology to his mom for telling her to shut up, adding, "if you were in the cage you'd kick my ass."

Sorry I told you to shut up! I know if you were in the cage you'd kick my ass lol #caughtinthemoment pic.twitter.com/0mPIsJpXh6
