Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson was found asleep in a Chevy Impala early Sunday morning as his car was sinking into a retention pond in Jacksonville, Fla. Authorities approached the vehicle at approximately 4:22 a.m. when they noticed Robinson at the wheel and a female passenger were asleep. Both individuals were immediately helped out of the vehicle.

Robinson's car was totaled. Authorities didn't observe any skid marks to indicate Robinson tried to hit his brakes before the car went into the water.

Authorities determined that the 25-year-old wasn't impaired at the time of the accident and would not be charged with a DUI. The Jaguars acknowledged the incident, saying the organization was "aware that running back Denard Robinson was involved in a single-car accident over the weekend" and "thankful that nobody was injured."

Once the news about his incident started, Robinson issued a short statement through his Twitter account.

It has been a weird weekend for NFL players falling asleep. On Friday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy attended the wedding of University of Florida teammate Deonte Thompson at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida. At one point in the night, Murphy, who had been drinking during the wedding, wandered into a courtyard where he fell asleep and woke up early Saturday morning locked inside the building. Luckily, in both cases, no one was harmed.
