"So, uh, what's up? Anything exciting happen to you last night?"
That was the first question Kelly Ripa asked her Live With Kelly guest co-host Dwyane Wade on Thursday morning, and it seemed like a good way to lead into what has been a crazy 12-plus hours for the newest member of the Bulls.Â
"I was more nervous about this than I was about everything that happened last night," Wade said, before delving into the emotional roller coaster that is the NBA free agency period. "You get a week to decide what you're going to do, and I didn't get no sleep, you know, I probably lost five or 10 pounds, just not being able to eat."Â
After taking a minute to thank Heat fans for "13 incredible years" together, Wade discussed his feelings with regards to going back to Chicago to play for his hometown team. "I'm excited to go back to the place that I've always envisioned playing basketball," Wade told Ripa. "I've always envisioned myself, being in the backyard, always had a Bulls jersey, always envisioned Dwyane Wade's name being called in the United Center, and I get an opportunity to live that dream out."
Behind the scenes, Ripa also shared a really funny moment with Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union after she asked them if LeBron James is a good tipper. Wade called LeBron an "exact tipper" before the couple revealed that LeBron is very cheap and doesn't like to pay for data charges for his smartphone.
"If there’s no Wi-Fi," Union said, "he does not mess with the data roaming."
"This is no joke," Wade said. "He’s like, 'I will send this text before I leave the boat because there ain’t gonna be no Wi-Fi probably.'"
"He doesn’t take the phone because he’s not assured of Wi-Fi!" Union said.
"We just rented a yacht, that’s very expensive, and you flew private here," Wade said.
"But no data roaming," Union said, "that’s where he draws the line!"
Damn, LeBron! It's like that?
