Because it's been more than 50 years since the city of Cleveland last won a title in any major sports, the city's municipalities understand that it shouldn't make any of The Land's residents hold their breath for another one. For that reason, according to Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Municipal Court is granting passes to defendants and other parties scheduled for Wednesday court dates to attend the Cavaliers' championship parade instead.

The parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, and the Cleveland Municipal Judge issued a statement saying defendants will not be issued warrants for their absence from court during the festivities:

“Given the historic nature of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Championship victory, it is only right and proper that the Cleveland Municipal Court facilitate an opportunity for our employees and those who use the Cleveland Municipal Court’s facilities to join with the rest of Northeast Ohio and the Cavaliers’ nation for the celebratory parade scheduled to take place tomorrow,” Presiding Judge Ronald B. Adrine said in the news release."

So defendants and anyone else whose supposed to be in court Wednesday have LeBron and company to thank for not being arrested. Besides, logic proves that no one wants to come to court searching for a impossible parking space downtown that day anyway.
