Joanie Laurer, more commonly known as former WWE star Chyna, passed away Wednesday at the age of 45. Wrestling icon Triple H, who was closely associated with Chyna throughout her career both personally and professionally, said Thursday he is “still coming to terms” with the news and spoke glowingly of her career.

For a time, Triple H was both Chyna’s boyfriend and her onscreen partner. In a conversation with The Mirror Thursday, he touched on her chances of being posthumously inducted into next year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.

“You know it’s not my decision, but I definitely think, as I have said before, that what she did in her life certainly warrants it,” Triple H said. “There was never anybody like her before her, and there will never be anybody like her after. It’s certainly warranted and I’m sure at some point when the time is right, hopefully, that could happen.”

Chyna, who made her WWF debut in 1997, was the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble and the first woman to win the Intercontinental Championship. She left the WWE in 2001 after her breakup with Triple H.

Someone who wasn't afraid to blaze her own trail & create a path for those who would follow. A pioneer whose star shined bright. #RIPChyna
