Allen Iverson Shows Major Love to Craig Sager, Encourages Him to Keep Fighting

As Craig Sager fights leukemia, Allen Iverson showed respect and paid him some kind words.

Recently minted Hall of Fame inductee Allen Iverson was interviewed by a fellow legend earlier this week, and he took the opportunity to express his respect for the great Craig Sager. Sager, the longtime Turner Sports sideline reporter, recently announced his leukemia has returned for a third time, and he might not have long to live.

Though his health has deteriorated, Sager and his memorable suits have remained a fixture on the sidelines of the biggest NBA games. After Sager paid some kind words to The Answer, A.I. sent the love right back.

“Man, I love you, man, you a fighter,” Iverson said. “And fight. Do what we do. That’s what we do, we fight.”

Sager, 64, has worked as TNT’s primary NBA sideline reporter for 17 seasons. He was given a 3-6 month diagnosis in March, but has vowed to fight to the end. You can see him on air tonight at 8 p.m. for the Bulls-Heat matchup on TNT.
