The next season of Hard Knocks begins on August 9, set your DVRs. And the team that will be featured this season is none other than the squad that bailed on St. Louis for L.A., the re-introducing themselves Los Angeles Rams.
In fact, some of the footage for one of HBO's greatest original programs is already being shot, as part of the focus will be on the NFC West team's relocation to the actual west. NFL Films coordinating producer Ken Rogers gave a brief explanation on that:
"Previous teams that have moved, it wasn’t something that we had covered fully like we’re going to cover the Rams. What we try to do on the show is find a team that’s going on a mission, that’s going somewhere. Having a team that’s not only trying to get somewhere but is also physically moving just adds to the drama of training camp."
The Films crew will shoot 1,500 hours of footage and air five of them (.003 percent).
Despite fears of what a distraction the constant cameras can be, the past six teams featured on the series have improved their record(s), with four of those teams making it to the postseason.
Additionally, the franchise will truly thrill their new city by playing one of their eight 2018 "home games" in China, which has been waiting patiently for NFL action for the past 3,500 years:
