Two enthusiastic sign-wielding German fans got kicked squarely in the nuts tonight after traveling across an ocean from their homeland to Detroit to witness Kevin Durant in person. They will still get to see that. But it'll be as he sits on a chair along the Thunder's sideline:

The decision for the visiting squad to rest their 27-year-old star was made roughly an hour-and-a-half before tip-off, and was (wisely) based upon OKC being 24 hours removed from a game against Toronto, while also almost certainly being guaranteed to be the three-seed out of the West.

Instead the traveling duo will have to settle for the likes of Cameron Payne and Josh Huestis. Here's hoping they can at least still get that selfie and signature they're looking for.
