Thunder Co-Owner Aubrey McClendon Dies in Single-Car Crash in Oklahoma City

Thunder co-owner Aubrey McClendon died after a vehicle that he was driving crashed into a bridge in Oklahoma City this morning. According to police, the single-car crash took place at around 9 a.m. and McClendon, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene.

McClendon’s death comes just one day after he was indicted by a grand jury on conspiracy charges. He was the founder of American Energy Partners and the co-founder and former CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corporation. His death also comes less than a month after the wife of Thunder assistant coach Monty Williamsdied in a car accident in Oklahoma City.
