Gamers still want to play as Adam Johnson on FIFA 16.

The ex-England and Sunderland footballer is facing up to ten years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a 15-year-old fan and while we're unlikely to ever see him on a Premier League pitch again, he's still available for selection on the Playstation 4 or Xbox One.

Under EA SPORTS FIFA 16 Ultimate Team game mode, gamers are still able to purchase Adam Johnson for use in their own 'fantasy team'. Remarkably, while his stock in real life couldn't be lower, his notoriety appears to have made him more in-demand in the game.

Adam Johnson, rated '78', is selling for up to 10,000 coins on FIFA Ultimate Team.

In comparison, players in a similar position with a higher in-game ability than Johnson – such as Pedro, Theo Walcott or Juan Mata – are selling for as little as 2,200 coins.

Meanwhile, Juan Mata – rated '84' – is worth 2,200 coins.

Gamers have complained at the fact that Adam Johnson is still even in the game at all but quoted in The Sun, EA SPORTS have said due to technical issues, they're unable to remove the Adam Johnson 'character' from FIFA Ultimate Team but he is gone from offline game modes:

"Adam Johnson has been removed from the Active Rosters of both Sunderland and England in FIFA 16. We’re working to remove him from other modes within the game as soon as possible."

Good riddance.
