Philadelphia 76ers fans are either a wildly optimistic group or very skilled at hiding their pain. Last night, the 76ers dropped to 8-50 after their 103-94 loss to the Washington Wizards. This is the team's third straight 50-loss season, but judging from one section in the Wells Fargo Center, Sixers fans seem somewhat... hopeful through it all.
During Friday's contest, Max Rappaport spotted fans delivering chants like "An-al-y-tics!" and "Second rounders!"
The best one of them all, though, was the "Grow the orchard" chant, which is a particularly deep cut for Sixers fans.
In an interview with ESPN's Zach Lowe, 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie spoke about "The Process."
“We’ve been on a path to build something special. We’re planting seeds to have an orchard. Some would have us go out and buy apples. But we want to build the whole orchard.”
