On Tuesday night, Ingrid Williams, the wife of Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams, was involved in a car accident in Oklahoma City. Another driver reportedly crossed over the center lane and hit her head-on. The driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and on Wednesday, Williams died at a hospital in Oklahoma City as a result of the injuries that she sustained during the accident.

The Thunder released a statement on Wednesday night and sent their condolences to the Williams family.

“The Thunder organization has heavy hearts tonight with the news of Ingrid’s passing,” the team said in their statement. “Words cannot adequately describe how deep our sorrow is for the loss of Monty’s wife. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty and his family, and we will support him in every way possible. We know the entire community of Oklahoma City has them in their prayers.”

The Thunder weren’t the only ones to send their thoughts and prayers to Williams and his family, though. Williams joined the Thunder coaching staff last year, but he spent five years as head coach of the Pelicans prior to joining the Thunder and also spent about a decade playing in the NBA for the Knicks, Spurs, Nuggets, Magic, and 76ers. As a result, he has obviously touched a lot of lives in the league. So many former and current NBA players and coaches took to Twitter last night to share their thoughts on the passing of Williams’ wife. Here are some of their reactions:

Completely devastated. Ingrid Williams was like a 2nd mother to me when I got to NOLA. My thoughts & prayers are with Monty & the family
