Floyd Mayweather Claims He Has Been Offered “Nine Figures” to Fight Again

Someone offered Floyd Mayweather more than $100 million to fight again.

Before Floyd Mayweather officially retired after beating Andre Berto back in September, he revealed that there were some promoters who were already trying to cook up deals to entice him to fight again. At the time, he said that someone had offered him more than $100 million to continue fighting. And it sounds like people are still throwing ridiculous amounts of money at Mayweather in the hopes of getting him back into the ring.

Mayweather sat down for an interview with BBC World Service Sport recently and talked about the idea of him fighting again. He said that he’s “out completely” for now, but he also mentioned that he’s had more than a few offers to come back.

“It’s been crazy numbers that’s been thrown at me, of course,” he said. “Nine figures. You know, I’ve had money thrown at me from so many different countries. If I get the itch to come back, it really won’t be for the money, but I’ll have to get paid. That’s why the nickname is Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.”

One, thanks for clarifying the nickname, Floyd! And two, did you just say, “If I get the itch to come back…”? That doesn’t really sound definitive at all.

How long until Mayweather is on the comeback trail?
