As awesome as that matchup would be, the fight will probably never happen—for a number of reasons.

Retired Floyd Mayweather is (supposedly) done fighting, but if he ever came back to face off with arguably the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world—Gennady Golovkin—Mayweather says it'd be a walk in the park.

During a Q&A session at an undisclosd location, a moderator asked Mayweather about who he'd like to fight if he did come back for his 50th bout. When Mayweather tried to dodge the question, fans started shouting names. Triple G's caught his attention and, as always, Mayweather kept it 💯.

"Triple G, not being disrespectful, but he's straight up and down, no special effects," Mayweather said. "That's easy work."

As awesome as that matchup would be, the fight will probably never happen—for a number of reasons. Most importantly, Mayweather probably would never be able to get up to 160 pounds as welterweight—where he's fought over the last several years—to meet Golovkin as a middleweight.

"I can barely make [1]47, how am I going to make 160?" Mayweather said.

Meeting at a catch weight might be the only way this fight happens—which, again, is a long shot at best—but it'd be one hell of a 50th for Mayweather and guaranteed to be a hell of a lot more entertaining than Mayweather-Pacquiao
