Nike Is Reportedly Thinking About Dropping Johnny Manziel

Nike may reportedly drop Johnny Manziel over off-field incidents

Johnny Manzielsigned an endorsement deal with Nike before he was even drafted, but one report now says that due to his many transgressions during his brief time in the league, that relationship may be coming to an end in the very near future.

"We are worried about him and hope things will turn around in the right direction ... but we are on the fence if [our relationship] will continue," a "highly placed Nike source" reportedly told TMZ.

If it turns out to be true, it wouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

Manziel has already been dropped by LeBron James' marketing agency LRMR.

“I will continue to support and advise him as a friend,” Maverick Carter said at the time. “However, because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth, the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision that it was best to terminate our business relationship.”

Manziel's repeated issues throughout this past season may mean that the Cleveland Brownswill at some point part ways with him, too. The multiple incidents of partying and other off-the-field problems have reached the point where Manziel the quarterback is no longer worth the hassle.
