As of right now, Ronda Rouseyis scheduled to take part in a rematch against Holly Holm at UFC 200 in July. It will give her plenty of time to come up with a good game plan in order to try and get revenge on Holm. But her rival Miesha Tate doesn’t think eight months is enough time for Rousey to come up with something effective enough to beat Holm. During an interview with MMAJunkie Radio this week, Tate—who lost to Rousey during Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey in 2012 and UFC 168 in 2013—said Rousey just doesn’t have what it takes to get the best of Holm.

“I’m not a fan of the rematch in that amount of time,” she said, “because with everything else that Ronda has going on, plus her injuries, I just don’t think it’s going to amount to a good outcome. It wasn’t a competitive fight, and Holly has the perfect style to beat Ronda. Holly’s already back in the gym training; she had no injuries from the fight.”

It’s worth noting that Tate has been angling for the UFC to give her a fight against Holm. So you should take everything that she says about both Rousey and Holm with a grain of salt. But she made it clear that she doesn’t think Rousey stands a chance against the first and only fighter to knock her down.

“[Holm] knows she’s fighting Ronda next, but she gets this whole time to fix maybe even the little things she wanted to improve on in the fight,” she said. “She’s going to be even more prepared, and I don’t know if it’s a smart move, because Ronda might go 0-2.”

If Rousey does lose, she has already insinuated that she will retire. Stay tuned to see if this fight even ends up happening at UFC 200, given all the medical issues Rousey has been dealing with.
