Matt Barnes Goes Against Coach Dave Joerger's Wishes, Drains YOLO Game-Winning Half-Court Shot

Barnes got lucky.

After Matt Barnes pulled down a missed fadeaway jumpshot by Marcus Morris for a rebound, Memphis Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger clearly wanted him to call a timeout to draw up a play with the Detroit Pistons up 92-90 and just over five seconds remaining.

But, if Barnes' little spur of the moment, 95-mile trip from Santa Barbara, Calif. to Los Angeles this past October thought us anything, it's that he will do whatever, whenever he pleases. So, with that in mind, Matt stormed up the court, ignoring Joerger's pleas and heaved a half-court shot with plenty of time (2.8 seconds) still left on the clock.

Luckily for Barnes, the shot actually went in and gave the Grizzlies a one-point lead with 1.1 seconds left. Memphis went on to capture the W, thanks to Barnes' near bone-headed decision.
