The scary episode of Knicks reserve guard Cleanthony Earlygetting robbed and shot early Wednesday morning after visiting a strip club in Queens has produced plenty of hot takes. But one man with as much nightlife experience as anyone came to the defense of Early against those criticizing his life choices.

J.R. Smith, Early's former teammate with the Knicks, took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to quiet the social media police who were denouncing Early, despite the fact there are very few details known about what actually went down after he visited the CityScapes Gentlemen's Club.
