Ex-AFL star Paul Dimattina is facing an assault charge after socking a business associate in the grill.

The former Western Bulldogs forward, who now owns several restaurants around Melbourne and the Gold Coast, allegedly punched Nant Whiskey Distillery manager Greg Amore in the face at Hobart’s Nant Whisky Cellar. The two were apparently at odds regarding a billing dispute.

The incident occurred last month and was put in front of the Hobart Magistrates Court today, but Dimattina failed to appear in court, and has not put forward a plea in relation to the charge.
