Earlier this NFL season, Jerry Jones said that you “won’t see a more gifted passer” than Brandon Weeden. Of course, he basically nullified that comment when he released Weeden from the Cowboys just two months later and threw him under the bus on his way out. But still, Jones did say some pretty nice things about Weeden before that, so Weeden wouldn’t possibly rip Jones now that he’s the quarterback for the cross-state Texans, right?

LOL. Um, yes, he would. And he just did during an interview with 107.7 in Oklahoma City. After pointing out how much he has enjoyed his time with the Texans—he has only been on the team for about a month, but he has already helped them inch closer to a playoff berth—Weeden was asked if he’s looking forward to having success in the playoffs while Jones and the Cowboys sit at home and watch the postseason on TV.

“I mean, yeah, absolutely,” he said. “That’d be sweet. We get to play extra football, and he’ll be watching on his couch. That’s what it’s all about. We’re playing for something.”

Weeden probably could have dug the knife in a little deeper during the interview and twisted it around a little bit, but this was still a nice jab on his part. We’re sure Jones will have something to say about it soon.
