Why did Odell Beckham Jr. flip out on Sunday and attack Panthers cornerback Josh Norman on multiple occasions? Was it because Norman got into OBJ’s head…or was it because a Panthers player threatened OBJ before the game?

At this point, we have no idea. There have been so many conflicting reports that it’s difficult to figure out what’s actually true. But according to Giants punter Brad Wing, there is some truth to the story about a Panthers player threatening OBJ. According to him, Panthers practice squad player Marcus Ball, who was carrying a bat on the field prior to the game, directed a very specific threat at OBJ. Wing told reporters that he didn’t hear any of the homophobic slurs that were allegedly aimed at OBJ, but he did hear a threat of physical violence from Ball.

“I’ll be the reason you don’t play today…and other days,” Ball said, according to Wing.

Ball downplayed Wing’s side of the story during a brief meeting with reporters today. But he did offer up this bizarre denial on his behalf.

“If I had a dollar for all the ex-girlfriends that had false allegations about me,” Ball said.

Hmmm…Might want to rethink that defense, man.

OBJ had an appeals hearing today regarding the one-game suspension he was given for his actions on Sunday. That hearing might help clear some of this stuff up, but it also might just make things more confusing. Stay tuned for the verdict.
