UPDATE:

Good news, Patriots fans. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rob Gronkowski will likely only miss one game due to the knee injury he suffered last night, if that.

Sounds like #Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) is unlikely to miss more than one game, I'm told. In fact, he may not even miss that.

See original story below.

Not only did the New England Patriots have their undefeated season come to an end at the hands of the Denver Broncos, but they may have also lost their standout tight end for an extended period of time.

Rob Gronkowski took a severe hit to his right knee as he was going up for a catch in the fourth quarter and sat on the ground writhing in pain for a while before being carted off the field.

Gronk could later be seen walking from the X-Ray room with a noticeable limp, but was able to put weight on his right leg and move without support, which has to be an encouraging sign for Patriots fans. ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini is also reporting that Gronk's injury may not have been as bad as it looked.

Sources tell me pending MRI, Rob Gronkowski's injury is not as bad as it looked. #Patriots

We will know for sure tomorrow, but as of right now, it does not appear that Gronk's injury will threaten his season.
