Dez Bryant's pet monkey is pissing off PETA.

The controversial organization is calling for the Cowboys wide receiver to give up the monkey he picked up during his recovery from foot surgery earlier this season because they believe he can't take proper care of it.

ESPN's Adam Schefter took to Facebook to describe how PETA is pleading with Bryant to let it place baby capuchin named Dallas Bryant in a more favorable environment.

"Monkeys belong in the wild-not in the hands of football players who acquire exotic animals just to make a splash on Instagram," says PETA Foundation Deputy Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement Brittany Peet. "This baby capuchin was torn away from his mother shortly after birth and needs special care that can now only be provided by wildlife experts who will be able to ensure that he gets the love and attention he deserves."

Schefter says PETA "has already secured space at an accredited primate sanctuary" where the monkey could be adopted by a "surrogate mother figure."

NFL Network is also reporting that PETA is looking into whether Bryant legally owns the monkey.

PETA contacted DeSoto (TX) Animal Control to request investigation into #Cowboys WR Dez Bryant’s “possible illegal possession” of a monkey

It's never dull in Dallas. Or with Dez.
