If you fell asleep before the end of the Warriors/Clippers game last night, you missed two things.

First, you missed one of the best comebacks you’ll see in the NBA this season. At one point during the game, Golden State trailed L.A. by 23 points and appeared to be headed towards their first loss of the season. But after getting outplayed for most of the contest, the Warriors outscored the Clippers 39-26 in the fourth quarter to claim a 124-117 victory and move to 13-0. It was a crippling loss for the Clippers (especially in light of some of the words that were exchanged between the two teams prior to the season) and further proof that the Warriors are, without a doubt, the team to beat in the Western Conference—and the entire NBA—this season. Highlights from the game are here:

Amazingly, the Warriors are now 3-3 in games in which they trailed by more than 20 points since the start of last season:

Since start of last season, Warriors are 3-3 in games in which they trail by 20 at any point.

Rest of the NBA is a combined 13-486

However, that’s not all you missed. After the game, Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley attempted to try and make sense of what happened during it, and they chose an interesting way to do it. While discussing the rivalry that exists between Steph Curry and Chris Paul, Smith decided to break it down by comparing the players to battle rappers and name-dropped guys like Murda Mook, Shotgun Suge, Charlie Clips, and…wait, whaaaaat? There’s some NSFW language in this clip, but check out Smith’s explanation below:

“When you look at Chris Paul and you look at Steph Curry, you see two guys who have that look of innocence," he said. "These guys are really like battle rappers. They have that ‘I’m going at you’ mentality. There’s a subculture of battle rappers—Murda Mook, Charlie Clips—they take it really personal in their raps…That’s what Steph Curry is. He’s a battle rapper. He’s not just a studio rapper. He’s coming in guns blazed and he’s talking about it as he’s doing it. That’s not that innocent guy that we see everyday.”

Is this really where we’re at with trying to explain Steph Curry’s dominance? LOL.

So random.
