Prior to their fight at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey said some pretty mean things to Holly Holm. She actually called her out on Instagram the night before their fight. So if Holm talked trash to Rousey in the days following their fight, it’d be hard to blame her for doing it.

Holm hasn’t done that, though. In fact, she has actually turned into Rousey’s biggest defender and spoken up on her behalf as people have taken aim at her. Most recently, she did it during an interview on The Dan Patrick Show that featured her telling people not to be “too brutal” when it comes to reacting to Rousey’s loss.

“I hope people don’t get too brutal with it,” she said. “This is a hard job to be in and a lot of people can’t get in there. When you get in that Octagon, it’s one of the loneliest places in the world, because it’s only up to you to do it. A lot of people wouldn’t even have the nerve to be able to get in and just put it all on the line…There’s a reason why only certain people fight. You’re putting yourself out there and you know people are going to say something one way or another.”

You can check out Holm’s full interview with Patrick in the clip above. It’s kind of nice to hear Holm handling her win with so much class.
