Metta World Peace Says Celebrities Should Stop Visiting Lamar Odom: “Not Every Kardashian Needs to Be Around”

World Peace makes a good point.

Lamar Odom’s condition improved drastically over the weekend. According to multiple reports out of Las Vegas, he has actually improved so much that he was able to start physical therapy. He still has a long recovery ahead of him, but he is reportedly in a much better place than he was just a few days ago and is expected to survive a major health scare.

That’s obviously great news, and Odom’s former teammate/friend Metta World Peace is ecstatic about it. However, one thing World Peace isn’t happy about is all of the celebrity visitors that Odom has had over the last week. From Kobe Bryant and the Kardashians to Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan, a long list of celebs have shown up at the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center—and World Peace thinks it has all been too much.

“This is nothing against Khloe [Kardashian],” he told the Los Angeles Daily News last night. “This is for the celebrities that are coming to see Lamar. They should know they’re taking away from Lamar’s children.”

World Peace himself thought about visiting Odom this week now that he’s doing better—his brother Daniel Artest has been staying near Odom's hotel and providing frequent updates on Odom's condition—but he thought better of it after considering what Odom’s kids must be going through right now.

“The only Kardashian that needs to be there is Khloe,” he said. “Not every Kardashian needs to be around. They need to keep it simple, so Lamar’s children can see him whenever they want to see him. They’re waiting in line to see their own father.”

Metta World Peace, voice of reason? That’s what it sounds like. He does bring up an interesting point, though, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea for other celebrities to consider what World Peace said before paying a visit to see Odom.
