Before we get to the mountain of trash talk that Klay Thompson dropped on the Clippers recently, we need to remind you of one very important fact: The Warriors and the Clippers legitimately don't like each other.

The animosity dates back to 2013, when Draymond Green was ejected for throwing an elbow at Blake Griffin's throat, and Griffin was later ejected after getting tangled up with Andrew Bogut. There have been other incidents since, one of which included Jermaine O'Nealconfronting Griffin in the bowels of the Staples Center after a 2014 contest, and Green going back and forth with Doc Rivers through the media late last season.

It looks as though all of this is going to continue during the upcoming season. Rivers said the Warriors were "lucky" that they didn't have to face either the Clippers or the Spurs during their run to win last year's title, and once those comments were taken to Klay Thompson, he lit up the Clippers in spectacular fashion.

"That sounds pretty bitter to me," Thompson began. "If we got lucky, look at our record against them last year. I'm pretty sure we smacked them."

The Warriors did beat the Clippers in three of their four regular season meetings, so Thompson has a point. But he didn't stop there.

"Didn't they lose to the Rockets?" Thompson asked. "So that just makes me laugh. That's funny. Weren't they up 3-1, too? Tell them I said that, too."

That one's likely to sting a little, since the Clippers not only blew a 3-1 series lead, but also suffered an epic Game 7 collapse, losing by double-digits after leading by 19 points late in the third quarter.

Thompson's final comment on the matter, however, may have been the most devastating of all.

"I wanted to play the Clippers last year," he said. "But they couldn't handle their business."

The best part about this is just how casually Thompson laid waste to the Clippers here, evidently doing so with his mouth full of sunflower seeds.

In related news, Draymond Green's mother took to Twitter to throw some shade at the Clippers, after Austin Rivers (son of Doc) had some teeth knocked out during a recent Clippers practice.

This rivalry runs deep, and it isn't going away anytime soon.
