In August, Roy Jones Jr. met with Vladimir Putin in Crimea and brought up the possibility of receiving Russian citizenship. So, in exchange for agreeing to spend a majority of his time in the country, Putin has issued a decree, honoring Jones' request.

The 46-year-old boxer believes that by receiving Russian nationality, he can use the sport to "build a bridge" between Russia and the United States, as well as establish some personal goals, which include earning "two to three billion dollars" and developing his rap career. Jones has also stated that he would like to learn Russian, saying, "I want to speak so well in Russian that people understand me without any problems...I hope that next year I'll already be speaking like a Russian."

With so much focused on building up his new relationship with Russia, Jones has no more time for boxing, right? Wrong! In fact, RJJ is still holding out hope that he can one day fight in a world title bout. Well, good luck with that. And everything else.
